Ian Greenstreet

– International Risk Expert –

Ian Greenstreet is an Investment Banker and international expert in Financial Risk. He is Founder and Chairman of Infinity Capital Partners, a London-based Corporate Finance firm, approved and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. With over 35 years of experience and insight within the banking and financial services sector, Ian is a very well networked business executive. Ian leverages his relationships and expertise to assist companies in finding cutting technological solutions that improve their operations and help provide their clients with exceptional service.

Ian is a Chartered Accountant having trained with Deloitte Touche in London. His executive career has spanned 35 years and he has worked in senior roles at leading financial institutions such as HSBC, Lloyds bank.  Ian was CEO of Henderson Portfolio Managers in Luxembourg a group that now has $130bn under management and Head of Risk ABN AMRO La Salle bank responsible for a £72 billion trading portfolio and a £39 billion portfolio. A man of foresight, he was able to predict the downfall of Long Term Capital Management saving ABN AMRO bank € 4 billion while being able to implement a system of including risk experts on City trading floors to maximize profitability and mitigate risk on transactions.

Throughout his career Ian’s management prowesses has been called upon by companies worldwide to co-ordinate projects and negotiate large financing transactions. Under Ian’s leadership Infinity Capital Partners partnered with Shiavam Advisors to coordinate and negotiate the acquisition of Diamond Bank UK by GFG Alliance in 2018, in a deal which is subject to regulatory approval. The transaction was supported by Liam Fox, UK secretary of state for international trade, who said “GFG’s acquisition of Diamond Bank UK will go a long way in helping UK businesses access opportunities in some of the world’s largest and fastest-growing markets.” He was a key member of team that listed the first Indian property development companies on the Alternative Investment Market (AIM) in London and within a short period of time the value of the company had exceeded the amount invested by the sponsors many times over. In addition Ian managed the first independent, integrated power project in Nigeria with responsibility for restructuring the debt and equity comprising $500m.

Ian is passionate about using his thriving international network of accomplished professionals to connect industry leaders in the UK and US. He co-ordinates events with the purpose of improving global relationships, which is increasingly important in the age of connectivity.

Ian has a wealth of experience of Board experience, having served on boards across three continents. Alongside being Chairman of Infinity Capital Partners he is currently a founding member of the Advisory Board of the London Stock Exchange. He was an independent Senior Board Director of Diamond Bank, chairing its Board Audit and Risk Committee and serves as Vice Chair of its Board Credit Committee. Ian also represented the IFC, the private sector arm of the World Bank on the Board on an Assupol Insurance in South Africa and the Dutch development organisation (the FMO) on two boards – the Bank of Africa, based in 14 countries in Africa and Alios Capital, based in a further 5 African countries.

Ian is enthusiastic about equipping the next generation of industry pioneers realise their potential. He provides students in the UK, who have little/no previous work-experience an invaluable insight into the world of finance whilst mentoring them. Interns have gone on to fulfill their career aspirations, securing outstanding opportunities in the following industries:  Private Equity, Law, Consulting, Asset Management and Corporate Advisory. Ian has also been recognized as one of the 100 most influential black people in the UK as part of the 2015 Powerlist.
